Killer shotgun round (literally)

For those of you interested in a shotgun round (not buckshot or slug) that will provide you once shot stopping power at significant range (40 yards) I would recommend the Winchester Extended Range in a 3inch magnum ( I use No 5). Granted, it is a turkey load, but it packs a wallup with awsome pellet densities at extreme ranges. I have been shooting this round for a couple of years. Just patterned my gun this weekend for the upcoming season and was reminded why I love this round. At 40 yards I placed 57 "heavier then lead" pellets in the head/neck kill zone of a gobbler target (15"x20"). The remaining 250 (estimated) pellets stayed on the the paper as well. Talk about shot density. I admit that I use an extra full turkey choke. But at 40 yards that will put anyone on the ground. The only bad part about these rounds are the MSRP of $50+ for 10 shells, although my gun dealer sells them to me for $36.50 or $3.65 per shell (ouch).
